Salon Hosting Information
Why Salons Choose to Host
Hosting a See Theory class is not about bringing in a guest educator to teach a haircut.
This class is designed to support the long-term development of your team by helping stylists understand how haircutting works, not just what to do.
Instead being shown what to do, stylists learn to think through their work so they can design and execute haircuts with intention across a wide range of clients and situations.
What Stylists Learn
- Haircut Design
Design haircuts based on real variables of the client. This includes face shape, head shape, hair density, style preferences, lifestyle etc. - Intentional Execution
Learn different ways to achieve a design and how to choose the most effective approach for the specific haircut being created. - Problem Solving
Use the fundamentals of haircutting to solve problems, rather than relying on shortcuts, trends, tricks, or memorized rules. - Structured Creativity
Apply creativity through structure, allowing a wider range of looks to be achieved with clarity and intention.
This creates a shared technical language within the salon and supports more consistent, confident work across varying experience levels.
What This Brings to a Salon
Hosting a See Theory class offers more than a day of technical education.
It creates a shared learning experience that brings the team together around understanding and intentional execution.
Stylists gain:
- Shared Understanding
A common technical language that supports collaboration and makes it easier to learn from one another. - Grounded Confidence
Confidence built through understanding what they're doing and why, rather than relying on guesswork or chasing trends. - Tools That Grow Over Time
Foundational tools that continue to deepen through practice, reflection, experience, and study  — offering more insight as time goes on. - Meaningful Growth
An understanding they can stand on for themselves, built through seeing and thinking rather than taking someone's word for it.Â
As stylists learn to think through their work, individually and collaboratively, the atmosphere of the salon begins to shift.
This kind of education doesn't end when the class does.
It becomes a foundation the team continues to build on — supporting both the individual growth and the overall quality of the work being done in the salon.
Class Structure
Theory (Morning)
The morning focuses on understanding how haircutting works.
Design
Stylists learn how to design based on the real variables of a client, including face shape, head shape, hair density, style preferences, lifestyle etc.
Execution
We explore different ways to execute a design and begin to understand why certain approaches make more sense than others depending on the situation.
Visual tools such as diagrams, photos, graphics, ribbons, string, and 2D and 3D animations are used to make the mechanics of haircutting easier to see and understand.
Â
Hands-On (Afternoon)
This is where everything comes together.
We begin with a hypothetical consultation. As a group, the class designing a haircut based on the consultation and determines how it should be executed.
I demonstrate the haircut that we've designed and planned, walking through the process with clear explanation as it unfolds. 2D and 3D animations are used to further clarify the mechanics.
After each part of the haircut is demonstrated and explained, stylists cut together on their own mannequin heads. During this time, I move around the room to assist, answer questions, and support individual understanding.

Hosting a Class
There are 3 class formats:
- Private
- Semi-Private
- Public
Each class is $395 a person. Sales tax is added only where required by local regulations.
Private Class
Private classes provide a more intimate setting for the salon team to learn together.
The farther a salon is from a major airport, the more travel time and cost are involved. To keep classes accessible and sustainable, the minimum number of attendees increases as travel distance increases.
Distance from a Major Airport → Minimum Attendees
- 0 - 30 miles
→ Minimum 10 attendees
- 31 - 60 miles
→ Minimum 15 attendees
- 61 - 80 miles
→ Minimum 20 attendees
Have a smaller team?
Semi-Private Class
Semi-private classes include your salon team plus hairstylist friends you personally invite.
This is a great option if your team wants to learn together and meet the minimum attendee requirement more easily.
Minimum attendee requirements are based on the  salon's distance from a major airport and follow the same guidelines outlined above.
Â
Public Class
Public classes are the easiest option to host — you don't need to fill seats or sell tickets.
This format is a great way to learn, connect, and meet hairstylists from different areas. I handle all the promotion and ticket sales.
It has a minimum of 15 and maximum of 30 paying attendees, allowing you to choose how many people your salon can comfortably accommodate.
Hosting Eligibility
- Located no more than 40 miles from a major airport
